SKIN CARE TIPS FOR SUMMER

Lifestyle 16/11/2025

Just as the body needs care, so does the skin. The skin is in fact a very fragile part of our body. Be it summer or winter, it needs constant care, and round-the-clock looking after. In summer, we are prone to heat rashes, slight itching, sweat, and numerous other problems. Combating them is easy if only one knows the correct methods. Here are some tips for skin-care in summer.

Due to the heat, it is imperative to shower atleast twice a day. Shampoo every alternative day to wash your hair of the dirt and dust it picks up outside. Those with dry skin should use a slightly oily lotion, while those with oily skin should use a water-based lotion- something like a cucumber-aloe vera mix would be ideal. Never step out of the house without sunscreen. Patting talcum powder on the body after a shower is absolutely essential, for those prone to heat rashes, there are special powders available.

Face packs are also necessary for summer. Here, one can put practically just about anything. Cucumber to reduce puffiness and dark circles around the eyes, mashed ripe papaya and banana for the face, milk and maida for uptan- the important thing to remember is that skin must be properly cared for.

Diet is also a big part of skin-care. Drink lots of water, eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Try to avoid fried food and junk food as much as possible. Cut down on meats, as these tend to give indigestion in summer. Drink lots of fruit juice and milk-shakes to keep yourself hydrated.
Always remember that constant skin-care always gives results, albeit not immediately!
