Fashion in India is no more a buzz to avoid. It is now an integral part of every minor to major event. Rapid industrialization in India also has an immense impetus on the fashion industry. Moreover with international events such as the India Fashion Week and shows by fashion designers have made it quiet a familiar aspect in day-to-days life.
Indian fashion designers are influenced by both Indian as well as western styles. For them fusion has a greater impact and a more important role to play. Designers like Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal, Ragavendra Rathore, Satya Paul etc are much familiar names of the Indian fashion industry. Their designs ranges from wedding apparels to skimpy skirts, though many of them have their specific areas of dressing style to focus upon.
There has been a huge transition in dressing sense of the Indians. Though traditionalism, as always, is very important, but the then prevalent code of fashion like Kanjivaram, Mysore, Jamdani, Balucheri, Benarasi, Jamdani are now replaced by jeans, short skits, capris, jackets and other casuals. But for men sherwanis are still the “traditional modernity”! Fashion in India is also region specific and varies largely depending upon the climate.
But now, fashion in India is just not restricted to garments. It has extended to consider accessories within its arena. Jewelries and other trendy ear rings, nose pieces, naval rings, wrist bands, beads are a must to match with the dressing style, most comfortably
