Born on September 9, 1960, this Virgo is a Golden Globe winning British actor and a film producer. Hugh Grant was born in London, England. Since childhood he was good at acting and his first ever film was ‘Privileged’ that came in 1982 was financed by Oxford. However, Grant’s first leading role in the movie ‘Maurice’, an Edwardian drama of 1987 of Merchant-Ivory. The movie was based on E.M. Foster’s novel. Grant even won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival. In the late 80s and early 90s, Grant did small roles on television and also some films which included his role in the film ‘The Dawning’ as a supporting actor. He appeared in Roman Polanski’s 1992 film ‘Bitter Moon’ and in Merchant-Ivory’s ‘Remains of the Day’ in 1993. With the film ‘Four Wedding and a Funeral’, Hugh Grant claimed to international stardom. The writer and director of the movie was Richard Curtis. His delivered superb comic performances in film like ‘Mickey Blue Eyes’ and ‘Nothing Hill’. He is a prominent leading actor with a satirical comic talent. Grant played cad in ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’, ‘About a Boy’ , and ‘American Dreamz’.

Hugh Grant has been often identified as charismatic, charming, sharp tongue and witty. In 2003, Grant acted in the multi-starrer film ‘Love Actually’ where he played the role of the British Prime Minister. The movie was promoted as the ‘ultimate romantic comedy’. His two decades of acting has been felicitated with numerous awards. In 2001, Grant was awarded ‘Star of the Year Award’ at the ShowEast Convention.
