Arshad Warsi

Bollywood 31/10/2008

Arshad Warsi had a keen interest in dancing and joined a Dance group in Mumbai. He won the fourth prize in the english Jazz Dancing Competition at the age of 21. They say fortunate are those who can make others laugh, in that respect Arshad Warsi sure is among the lucky few who has the uncanny knack of making people laugh their guts out.

Arshad Warsi is the kind of person you wish all movie stars were like. Unassuming and friendly, the actor seems a great person to hang with. Who can forget his impeccable portrayal of “€˜Circuit” in the famous Munnabhai series or his goofy act in Golmaal or more recently his role as the lovable Adi in the mad-cap comedy Dhamaal.

Funny man Arshad Warsi has come a long way since his days as a choreographer. He was associated with English Theatre Group in Mumbai. He got his first offer to act in Amitabh Bachchan’s first production Tere Mere Sapne in 1996. ‘Hogi Pyar Ki Jeet’ came as somewhat of a saving grace. He was noted for his excellent comedy timing, and despite the heavy presence of Ajay Devgan through out the film, Arshad’s work was appreciated.

Arshad acted in several other films over the next six years which failed to do well at the box office till 2003 when he starred in the comedy film Munnabhai MBBS which was a huge box office success and gained him much critical acclaim.
