The Correct Method of Waxing

Health & Beauty 04/05/2025

A very big percentage of the young female population removes body hair. They use different methods- shaving and waxing being the most preferred. There are some who get waxed at a parlour, and then there are some who wax themselves at home. Here are some little tips to wax correctly.

Use a good brand of wax, preferably keep it in a heater, so that you can heat it if it cools down too much. Make sure your skin is not moisturized- as this prevents hair removal. Powder it to make it dry.

Spread the wax evenly in the direction of your hair growth, blowing slightly to cool it down. Put the cellophane/cloth strip, press firmly, you may powder on top of it too.

Pull off the wax strip in the opposite direction of the hair growth, in one firm motion. There may be little stray hairs, you can just press down a corner of the cellophane/cloth, and pull off, to remove those.

Follow this for the rest of the body parts you wish to wax. Remember to wax knuckles, and little hairs near the ankle too. It’s never a good idea to wax eyebrows- threading is more advisable.
After waxing, rub some crushed ice on your skin. This relieves any slight irritation you may have. Apply Lacto-Calamine liberally all over your body, moisten a towel, and pat dry.
Then use a moderately oily lotion, massage it into your skin.
Voila! Easy as that!
