Dev Anand at Cannes
Evergreen actor Dev Anand Tuesday said he was happy to be invited to the forthcoming Cannes Film Festival, which is screening his film “Guide” in its ‘Classics’ section.
Dev Anand said, “I have never attended any Cannes fest earlier. So, I am very happy to receive an invitation to attend it. I am indeed more pleased because my ‘Guide’ is being shown in the ‘Classics’ section, which I understand is a sideshow of the main festival.”
The evergreen veteran actor of Bollywood, Dev Anand is on cloud nine as he is invited to participate in the forthcoming Cannes Film Festival. This year at the forthcoming Cannes Film Festival, Dev Anand’s classic ‘Guide’ will be screened in the ‘Classics’ section. The actor has said that he has never attended Cannes feat earlier and he is very excited to receive such an outstanding opportunity more because his film ‘Guide’ will be shown in the ‘Classics’ section, which he has understood is a sideshow of the main festival. The festival of films at Cannes will start in France in the month of May. The octogenarian actor has confessed that he will have the most wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with other renowned film celebrities from around the world. The film ‘Guide’ is based on a famous novel written by R. K. Narayan, which has the name ‘The Guide’. The film came in the year 1965 and was directed by Vijay Anand. The film is considered as one of the masterpieces of the Indian cinema. The movie also stars Dev Anand and Waheeda Raman in the lead roles. In the movie, Dev Anand plays the title role. Eventually, he finds himself entangled in the affairs of a woman, played by Waheeda Raman. The woman is caught in a marital conflict, which drives him to the edge of his own life. The film gave Waheeda Raman a permanent stand in Bollywood and she was appreciated for both his acting and dancing skills.
