Fashion for ears

Lifestyle 05/10/2025

Very few women would be caught dead not wearing earrings. One doesn’t need to wonder why. Earrings are an integral part of any woman’s fashion sense. Right from the time their ears are pierced as children, to the wedding day, and even after that- earrings remain their constant companion. They start off with plain gold studs or rings, that are easy to handle- for children, and experiment a little when older, with beads, stone and plastic earrings. Tastes change over time.

When it comes to earrings, women are pampered. Right from casual funky stuff on the footpaths to snazzy stuff in the malls, to antique earrings in old shops to classy gold and platinum in jewellery shops- there is no lack of ear adornments.

For western outfits, girls like to wear casual stone earrings, studs, or imitation metal. For eastern, beads and slightly ethnic looking earrings are preferred. Of course, there are those who hardly change their earrings- wearing their same gold or silver pair over a long period of time.

Even the men are spoilt for choice. Right from plain studs on the footpath to diamond studs in the malls- they know where to go, depending on the budget.

There are even those who choose to get multiple piercings on their ears, for a funky look.
Ah yes, earrings remain as scintillating as ever- a constant reminder that jewellery is indeed a woman’s best friend!
