Mallika too much for Kundan Shah

Bollywood 06/08/2008

The most straightforward actress, Mallika Sherawat, is again hitting headlines after her contract with the production house 18 has been called off. Mallika was signed by the production house Studio 18 for its film ‘Masquerade’. But is has recently been called off after there was a difference of opinions with the director Kundan Shah. Mallika was signed for a whooping sum of Rs.9.5 million and according to reports she was already paid 25% of her remuneration. This was done before the movie’s shoot. The renowned director Kundan Shah refused to accept any interference from her and this became the reason for the film to not to take off.

According to sources, Mallika Sherawat was primarily not happy with the choice of the director and she wanted to choose a cinematographer of her own choice. But this cold not be done as the director said, this priority of choosing the cinematographer is given to the director of the film. The rift between the director and the actress reached such a stage that there was no other alternative for the production house Studio 18 other than calling the film off. The other problem which has propped out is that though the film has been called off, Mallika has refused to pay the 25% of her remuneration which was given to her before the shooting was started. Studio 18 has been forced to lodge complain with a producer’ association. It is heard that Mallika has stopped receiving calls from them and has also stopped to answer their emails.
