There are times when you have to search for your lost friends or classmates or colleagues. Searching for people can be a bit frustrating when done through regular search engines. Mainly because they cover several pages in the web – including those that you wouldn’t really get out to check. However, there is now a site that allows you to do free people search with better search results than larger search engines. PeekYou.com is a search engine explicitly for finding people. There are already a lot of “find this person” websites, but PeekYou takes it to an entirely different level. They search all of the existing social networking sites like LinkedIn, MySpace and also several whitepages sites for information about a specific person.

By placing control of the data in the hands of the volunteer community of contributors, they hope to encourage honesty, accountability, and ever improving search results. PeekYou lists an impressive number of features. It says that each person will have his or her own personalized page and a PeekYou profile that “will include bookmarked links to all information available about that targeted person.”
