Daughter of a senior police official-the picture perfect Sonal Chauhan is already going places on the modeling circuit. Thanks to the waves that she has swiftly created both on the ramp as well as a prominent product endorsing model. All this has been achieved in a rather short span of less than an year since she first gingerly tested the modeling waters, after which there has been absolutely no looking back for this stunning lass.
Barely 19, the alumni of DPS Noida, is presently pursuing her Philosophy (Hons) from Gargi College at Delhi University after which, she has serious plans to go ahead with her post graduation in Mass Communications. Along with her active studies, Sonal is equally serious to carve a niche for herself as one of the best models on the circuit before she allows herself to get lured towards a serious stint in acting- be it on television or the silver-screen, provided she lands some serious meaningful offers that give her ample scope to perform and prove her versatility.
Of one thing that Sonal is amply clear, is that nothing in the world can lure her to do the bump and grind item numbers or dance in the rain in skimpy transparent sarees while heaving her bosom or wriggling her hips to provide cheap thrills to the audience. That’s not the sort of cinema with which Sonal would like to associate herself.

Any wonder then that apart from being crowned Ponds Femina Miss India earlier this year, she was to follow it up by winning the Provogue Miss 8888 Viewers Choice Award. However, undisputedly, her crowning glory came at Sarwaks in Malaysia when she became the first Indian beauty to be crowned Miss Tourism International when she left behind 30 global beauties to be crowned the Queen. Close on her heels was Natalya Pervova-Miss Russia who went on to be the first runner up and Sandra Raymond -Miss Lebanon as the second runner-up.
Having made global waves with her captivating presence now Sonal is poised to sizzle in Bollywood next. But only if she gets a plum role.

Barely had the applause and accolades stated to subside for her achievements at the Ponds Femina Miss India Contest in Mumbai that Sonal Chauhan did it once again this time by walking away with the Miss Tourism 2005 crown when she left behind international beauties from 30 countries to be crowned the Queen at Sarawak in Malaysia.
