WIFW TO REVOLUTIONISE FASHION TRENDS THIS YEAR

The Wills India Fashion Week – autumn winter – slated to take place in Delhi this march has already managed to create a buzz in the fashion circuit. This is going to be one of the grandest affairs that the industry has ever witnessed and has got all the fashion people talking about it and made us sit up straight in anticipation. Working towards simplifying and systematising the Fashion Week to benefit the buyers and media, Wills Lifesyle India Fashion Week has grown to become bigger and better than ever before. With the growing participation of new and established designers, we can definitely look forward to a bigger and better edition of the event.

The 2008 autumn – winter edition of this event – which kicks off from march 12th, will showcase collections by 84 designers on the runway and in the stalls. The list includes a combination of established fashion czars as well as upcoming and promising talent. The names of all the participating designers were announced officially on 8th feb by the director general of the Fashion Designers Council of India (FDCI) – Rati Vinay Jha . Fifteen new designers will exhibit their collections for the first time at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, Autumn/Winter 2008 event. Some of these designers are well-known names from the fashion industry who have already showcased their collections in India and overseas.

With a total of 40 shows and 61 designers on the show schedule over five action-packed days, WIFW A/W 2008 will exhibit the very best of the Indian fashion industry under one roof. The designers will be showcasing their collections under the three new categories – Contemporary, Synthesis/ Heritage and Creator, which have been introduced for the first time, this edition. There’s absolutely no doubt that we have the very best of Indian fashion industry showcasing their collection this season. Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week is the country’s biggest fashion trade event and a wonderful platform which nurtures and supports talent in the fashion Industry so that they can maximize their potential an take the Indian fashion industry to unimaginable heights .
