Katrina not to appear in ‘Bachna ae Haseeno’

Bollywood 22/06/2008

The much-awaited film of the year is Siddhartha Anand’s ‘Bachna ae Haseeno’, which will star Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone among others. It is heard that the latest from the Yash Raj production house has got its one section cut off where actress Katrina Kaif had appeared. The reason given is that the film was becoming too lengthy and if that section was in the film, it would have become the longest film ever made in Bollywood. The director says that it was tough conveying the news to Katrina and she was really upset when she heard about the news. The part of Katrina was not being shot and hence it was agreed not to add the section.

The main lead is played by Ranbir Kapoor and the cast includes Bipasa Basu and Minissha Lamba. The director has said that Katrina was the biggest star of the film, who has only one flop movie in her career till now. Siddharth Anand has earlier directed ‘Salaam Namestey’ and ‘Ta Ra Rum Pum’, both under the Yash Raj banner. While the former starred Saif Ali Khan and Priety Zinta in the lead and had done a good business, the latter starred Rani Mukherjee and Saif Ali Khan but was a big flop of last year. The latest film is a romantic comedy and will be releasing on 15th August. Siddharth has been in this banner for a decade now, he had started by assisting on ‘Mujhse Dosti Karoge’ and his first film as a director was ‘Salaam Nameste’.
